Tigger, this is what I wanted to ask you: a few days ago I was buying meat in Safeway and bought Irish minced beef, labelled Farm Assured, but in a different sort of font and no little red tractor. Does this mean that Ireland has a similar scheme to the UK one, or is Safeway taking liberties with the slogan "Farm Assured?"
By the way, since you informed us about the LRT, every time I notice it, I think of the rigorous quality standards and all the form filling in! so different from farms I knew when I was a child!

Tigger, i have brainwashed my hubby into buying the LRT products. But yesterday he came home with some mushrooms with the Little red Tractor logo. Does this mean extra care and attention has been lavished on these mushrooms? daily massages perhaps???

Lil, oh those cuddly litle mushrooms!!!!, means that they've been "farmed" to specific standards.
While i've got your attention, I was reading Bella magazine, and they've got a good article regarding Homeopaths and MMR vaccine, one Dr's comments just endorsed your own, regarding the use of homeopathic remedies for certain vaccinations etc.

Sml, you asked about the Irish beef, well theoretically they should be at the same welfare standards etc that we are, but, a certain question mark has been put over some of their beef. In has it been brought in from the South of Ireland, where the age can be questionable and their cattle tracing as well. We don't know if beef from the Eire is under 30 months or not and if they have Quality Assurance like us.

Thank you Tigger. Actually I had assumed that Irish beef would be from the Republic anyway - unfortunately I haven't got time to annoy my local Safeway by getting them to explain it. I have noticed the LRT logo on veg as well - it has made me wonder if every carrot has an ear tag too...
