Hi there, so me, my partner and 3 year old daughter are looking into moving into Lincolnshire. We currently live in Hertfordshire down south so don’t know much about the area, we have some family there so have got advice from them but they don’t have children etc. Anyway we actually have some house viewings this weekend in Grantham, Gainsborough and one in sleaford, I just wandered if anyone had any advice on what those areas are like to live in and raise children and any other areas you would recommend?? We don’t really want to be more than an hour from Sheffield as have lots of family there to who are all having babies!! Any advice or information would be great! Thanks Smile

Have a look at North Lincolnshire as well. If you are near to an M180 junction, then it will be an hour or less to Sheffield.
(Also you can be be in York or Leeds in an hour)
South of the M180 becomes rural very quickly.

We moved here 15 yrs ago and live in a small village between Sleaford and Grantham, we like it up here, v cheap housing. Wouldn't chose Gainsborough to live in.

Grammar schools in Sleaford and Grantham are excellent.

Shopping is not great and we go to Notts or Sheffield as better choice.

Anything else you want to know , just ask.

Thank you, yes main reason we are moving is because we can’t afford a mortgage down south but can up north. Already a little put of by Gainsborough but it will be good to go and get the feel for it. Can I ask what village you live in?
