A work colleague I am not particularly close (I like her but we don't work together) to very kindly gave me some toys that once belonged to her adult daughters. Items included several dolls, a toy cot, pram and pushchair (incl. all bedding) and a table top kitchen with cooking utensils . I was very touched and asked what she wanted for them and she said nothing but to give a donation to the local childrens hospics (which I have done). The thing is I was wondering whether I should get her a gift as well to thank her, if so what is appropriate bearing in mind the amount of stuff and my reltaionship to her?

no, there's no need - perhaps a little card just to say thanks again ?

Yep,I would stick to a pretty card - maybe mentioning that you've made the donation (but you don't need to say how much!).... keep it brief and say how well the toys or liked or similar.
