I know about red, or at least what I like/ don't like but I'm hopeless with white.

So,what should I be looking for?

1)Crisp, clean dry but not sharp

2)Sweet-ish but not sickly (not dessert wine) - just something easy to drink.

TIA

How about a nice Chardonnay - fruity one. Go in a chat to your local liquor store and ask them to recommend one for you. Pinot Grigio is also very nice, can be a little drier though. There are lovely White Merlot's at the moment (like a blush) Gallo does an amazing one. Chilled with some good cheese in an evening

for your 1, what about Viognier, safe bet for a white, it's very easy to drink, peachy and flowery, very summery. Dry, but not sharp.

Yay, thanks for your responses.

I usually plump for Pinot Grigio but the Viognier sounds lovely. Chardonnay is good too and Trader Joes just won a big award for theirs, and it only costs about $4

White Merlot sounds interesting.

Am making a list and I think I will have buy one of every suggestion

I discovered White Cloud, a New Zealand wine made by Nobilo when they had it on special offer in Sainsbury's. Think it's usually £4.99 a bottle.
