Amazon Gift Certificates ...

Does anyone know whether there's any way around the fact that Amazon gift certs cannot be spent on Marketplace items? Are all third party providers who sell through the Amazon website classified as 'marketplace'. DH has received a gift cert for his b-day and wants to buy a watch but wouldn't you know, it's a marketplace item. Any ideas?? TIA

No way round it i'm afraid, you can only use them for Amazon products. Any marketplace items are offered by Third Party sellers and Amazon just acts like Ebay for them.

Thanks HappyMummyOfOne ... he has just tried it and it didn't work. Now we have a small fortune in Amazon gift certificates which will buy an awful lot of books

you could maybe sell them on ebay? and buy watch with money?

They don't accept free delivery if you include market place stuff either.

A bit annoying if you like the more obscure books that they sell.

Thanks for the suggestion Charliecat ... think it's too late for that because DH has already applied them to our account.
