Ok, are you a teacher and sometimes wish you were the TA instead or the TA and have a longing to be the teacher ??

Oh and can a primary TA (especially nursery or reception age) give me a run down of their day, and also a primary teacher do the same please.

I know I am being a pain asking, but it is helping me to do decide what to do honestly.

Unfortunatly hamster, all the schools round here require a level 2 qualification or experiance at the least, which I don't have.

Mercy - The TA course is Cache certificate for Teaching Assistants or you can do Teaching Assistants NVQ level 2. I think both are similar courses. Both are 1 academic year long, and one day a week, but you also obviously have to do at least 1 days placement a week too.
There is no age limit.

I work in a junior school - I started as a TA (well actually I started as a parent volunteer) but I have somehow turned into an ICT support manager - not really sure how that happened...
A friend at work started working as a TA when her youngest started school & has just finished qualifying as a Higher Level TA - more responsibility, more pay - her children are 10 & 13 now & when the youngest is a bit older, she intends to qualify as a teacher, but at the moment she's happy with fewer hours, less paperwork. Another friend started as a TA and has just finished the Graduate Teaching Programme - there are lots of ways into teaching now, & you don't necessarily have to decide yet if you want to go all the way.

Yes, more and more schools are asking for level 2 now stuff now for TAs. I was lucky and started with no qualifications about 4 years ago. I've just completed the SWIS cache course for TAs (actually NOTHING like the work you have to put in for an NVQ 2 apparently) and next week I am taking the test for level 2 Numeracy and Literacy equivalency. (This takes no time at all btw from enrolling, assessment and sitting the test).
In September I am starting an NVQ 3 TA course. I'd prefer not to do it but my head teacher likes us all to develop professionally.
