Hi

I've never freecycled anything but I have a 28" tv I want to get rid of (works fine, but no remote)

i would like it to go to somebody who really needs it (not somebody who is going to stick it on ebay). The problem is that somebody has posted a wanted ad today just asking for "a big tv " not sure if I should offer it to them first or just set up an offered ad?

Anybody know freecycle etiquette?

You don't have to offer it to the person who posted the 'Wanted' if you don't want to. If you offer it, you might get a few replies, some of which will contain explanations of why the person wants it, and you can then decide who you would like to give it to.

I'd wait a day or two then put an offer ad in. Some people give things on a first come first serve basis while others wait a day or so and then decide, which is what freecycle advise.

i prefer to reply to wanted ads unless you look back and they have posted 20 or so in the last few weeks. i offered a few things and found the same person replied to all of them, i assumed they wanted the stuff for ebay, but i think if you post a wanted its probably going to be something you actually need. i am more likely to see an offer and think i would like it than i am to post a wanted for something i dont really need. sorry, what a load of waffle that was
