Just had a row with La Redoute

Ooooh i'm soooooooo mad.

I sent for a catolouge the other week and they sent it but i hadn't ordered from it.

Anyway they sent me a letter and a discount code which was for 10 quid off, free p&p and a free throw.

I went onto the website and placed the order, a pair of trainers for Dd2, total should of been 50p.

Noticed today that they debited the whole 10.50 from my card so I rung them.

I explained the situation twice and the girl said that they would order the throw and credit my card BUT then i got cut off, by them i think.
Rung back explained it twice again and this snotty bloke said You can't have the discount cos it was a sale item.
I said where on the website does it tell me that, and he just kept going on and on about how if i had read it properly i would have seen that it couldn't be a sale item and the web site m,ainly only does sale stuff anyway.

I asked him exactly where it said that and he couldn't answer me. I said why did it accepot the code then, and he gave me some pathetic excuse aboout me getting part of it like the free p&p or something.

He was sooooo rude, and kept interupting me.
I asked for a full refund and cancelled the order. He said it has already been dispatched and that i won't get the refund until it's sent back or i refuse delivery (which i will be doing).

I told him that I certainly won't be using them again and will never reccomend anyone else to either.

I have since found in tiny tiny letters at the bottom of the letter that the code can only be used for a full price item.
Still does not state this on the website or when you use the code.

Might be worth your while to send an upset email too, I find they respond faster that way, go on their website and email the people at contact me(you dont have to say you have now noticed the small print), just say how upset you were especially with the customer service etc....

Also mention in your email how many people seem to have had problems with their customer service and that you would expect more from such a well known company (thinking of the discount codes thread!) Good luck.

Yeah i think i will do that.

Was quite pleased with myself for standing my ground and having a go back as I usually just acept things like this and say nothing.

Thought it was to good to be true, tainers for 50p, yeah right
