Dd loves dancing and has stood in front of the telly tonight dancing alone to the Gossip from the T in Park coverage.
Is this too young to find her a dance class? not expecting her to come home dancing Swan Lake(like I imagained I would when I went to my first and last Ballet class), just some where they will play music and let her have fun.
Does anyone else's Dd go to classes this young and what type do they seem to enjoy?

DD went to ballet from 3. It was the only dance class where we live that would take them from that young. Every thing else was from 4. She was always dancing to the radio and I really wanted to capture that interest. I have to say she has absolutely loved it from day 1 and she has learnt a lot esp rhythm and grace. But it is an investment as all the stuff eg: ballet shoes, leotard etc costs!

Mosy good dance school will offer a free trial lesson. Take her along to one then you have nothing to lose!

great idea to encourage exercise. is bit expensive if class insists on uniform. my dd wore dressing up clothes til she was 5/6. shoes is the most costly as about £10 each and they often do ballet and tap

My DD started ballet at 2 and loved it, she still goes now at 5. Like spudmasher said, they usually offer a free class, DD's does. She sounds like she'd love it!!

My DD started a Dance class in Feb this year, she is 3 and absolututely loves it - it is a class for toddlers from 2 - up to age six and then they move up to the next class. It is 1 hour a week, and they do warm up excercises in a fun way, they do the 'catwalk' and then pracitce a dance routine. They do one dance at a time, and practice a section one week, next section next week until they finish that dance then move on to the next. Sometimes the girls run around and pay no attention but the staff get them interested again - it's a lovely relaxed fun class. The do songs like 'reach for the stars', 'candyman', 'high school musical'. Highly recomend some thing like this.
