Had a Boden moment?

On Sunday we were sitting having a picnic on the well-manicured lawns of a National Trust property. I rubbed (organic) suntan lotion on ds1 and ds2 who wre behaving angelically for once. I turned to dh and said it felt like something out of the Boden catalogue. He replied "actually my shirt is Boden" (sale). Anyone had any similar?

did you bray and are your children named Alice and Tarquin ? You are only truly Boden if the answer to each of these is 'yes'

furrycat you need to get out more

Quattrocento · 10/07/2007 19:20

So will someone please explain this whole boden thing to me?

I have a few things from boden, as do the dcs. By and large they are not particularly nice. The quality is a bit suspect and the designs are at best okay. So what is this whole boden thing?

Crotchety · 10/07/2007 19:21

In the photo you would have to have your mouths wide open in expressions of absolute hilarity...and preferably you should not be able to see the clothes properly...

nomdeplume · 10/07/2007 19:23

Yes, you should be leaping about in a devil may care fashion

nomdeplume · 10/07/2007 19:24

Oh and you should carry around a placard that says...

"Favourite thing : fluffy kittens and Sunday mornings"

Cammelia · 10/07/2007 19:24

My dd does "actually have tons of Boden" but she always wears it with other things, the only time I let her wear the full Boden is on holiday in foreign countries

aimeesmummy · 10/07/2007 19:26

omg.... anti-Boden snobbery going on!

There was comment in the Sunday Times a few weeks ago on just this!

Does anyone else think that their sizes are ridiculous ? I ordered a wrap dress in a size 12 and it was like a massive binbag so it has put me off, especially as I had to traipse to the post office to send it back.

Quattrocento · 10/07/2007 19:33

I am part of a trend?

Anti-boden snobbery is a trend? Wow.

But I mean have you got any of the t-shirts? They are not actually good. After the first wash on a handwash programme they do look like something you would want use on your dishes rather than wear ...

meeshy · 10/07/2007 19:35

There must be other websites that meet the same need as Boden without the poor quality and ridiculous prices. Why doesn't GAP have an internet shop I want to know !

Most gap is poorer quality than Boden

meeshy · 10/07/2007 19:40

What I was trying to get at was...there must be someone out there who knows about a great online retailer where you can kit out the family without looking like clones of every second person you meet in the street..

Quattrocento · 10/07/2007 19:41

I don't agree with that statement about Gap being poorer quality than boden. DCs have got lots of gap stuff and it washes well without the dishcloth effect.

Tinker · 10/07/2007 19:42

Oh, god, Gap much better than Boden. Much better
