Hello all
My dd is at her second day at nursery (aged 3.6).
When i collected her yesterday i asked if she'd eaten and they said she tried everthing and ate all the chips!!!!! That'll be right
Anyway, there is a school menu on their website with 2-3 options for every day but i've already been told that nursery children get what they're given to try.
That's o.k but how do I then know what she's had without asking every day? I want to ask the teacher about it and ny mam said they'll think i'm being picky!!!!

I'm not am i? Do you get to know exactly what your children are offered every day??

Angeliz, DD is same age as your DD and she had school lunches last term. I had no idea what she was being fed unless I asked DD and it's the same with the childminder. TBH I discounted lunch as according to DD it was pretty standard stuff (but chips only once a week) and made sure she still ate properly at home. we've now gone back to packed lunches at DD's request, looking at a sample menu I suspect school lunches were a bit too "plain" for DD.

IMHO if you know from the website she can't be eating chips and beans every day it's not worth worrying about!

Dh is a primary school teach and they get their lunches from a contractor, delivered to the school each day and he says he'd never let our children eat the unhealthy slop they serve. Sometimes the dinner ladies even send the food back as it's too horrid to even give the children. I'd go with packed lunches if you are at all dubious.
