I am so annoyed and tired

am shattered as our DD has SN and doesn't sleep well, after being awake with her from 4.40 am, I went to bed early last night

Just nodding off and 9.40 and DH came up and woke me

Just started nodding off when next door but one's children came out to play at 10pm

The youngest is 4

By about 10.15 it had started going dark and they still didn't go in till 10.30

(Of course DH went fast asleep!!! But I couldnt)

They were so loud and had big planks of wood and were making a ramp outside to go on their bikes, bang thud bang

I know we were in bed early but I can't see why anyone would let their kids go out to play at 10pm till 10.30

I was just about to go out and ask them if they could play in their back gardens when they went in

Just can't belive that their parents could let them out at that time, especially as they know other children are asleep

a) Don't answer the door.

Failing that:

b) Tell them your children go to bed at 7.00pm

mine are in bed early as they are awake so early in the morning. But they are in the back bedroom so they were not disturbed

when one of ours was in the front bedroom we did used to go out and ask them to keep the noise down (believe me these kids are noisy, visitors have commented on the noise!!!!)

But this is a 4 year old being let out to play and 10 -10.30 pm at night when it is turning dark

And of course their house is silent now, they will all have a lie in, kids will sleep in, when I have been awake with one of mine since 5!!

I feel like going out and getting the ramps from down their path and banging them outside their house (its 6.50am0 !!!

Are they English? Only we have a couple of families near us who I think are eastern European and I think they just run later iyswim - their kids are often out much later than I would have thought suitable.

It's weird... But I suppose for the parents the lie-in in the morning makes it all worthwhile...!

yes, they are English

Ok if it was 9pm, but 10.30 and one of them is 4!!!!

Strange; I collected my 13yo from a party at a cimema/bowling complex yesterday after 10pm and was surprised by the number of quite little children running about in the restaurant, not on best behaviour because, err, maybe they were tired. And no, not just families who maybe can't afford a babysitter, judging from the value of the cars some of the families were hopping into. (Besides, what's wrong with a pizza earlier in the evening or at lunchtime if you want to eat out en famille?)

Sorry, not quite to the point, but a parallel thing at least.

I just think it is unfair to allow your children to be out late at night making an awful noise

Not everyone has the priviledge of having children that sleep in

It happens round here throughout the summer. My 2 go to bed at 8.00 pm latest and stare out of the window at all the children having fun . Once these chilren go to bed it's the turn of the boy racers to rev their engines outside doing pick up and drop offs. Stick some cotton wool in your ears

Kerrymum, I honestly didnt mean your kids!!!

Really I didn't!! I was referring to the ones in my road!!!!!

really sorry if it came across like that

I am sure there cant be many people who would let their 4 year old out at 10.30pm!!!!
