Oh, what a shame.

He was a very talented man.

Kewcumber · 05/07/2007 11:50

(thought he was already dead? )

oggsfrog · 05/07/2007 12:09

His wife was interviewed on the redio recently saying how he was still doing shows as all the old banter was still there most of the time, but he was struggling day to day.

That's very sad
Will really miss him & his performances.

ediemay · 05/07/2007 12:12

I saw him perform a few times, he was great. One was a freebie in Greenwich Park, years ago, we were all half-drunk in the sunshine.

Odd? If so I wish more people were odd. A real jazz man.

NoodleStroodle · 05/07/2007 12:13

Odd? A true original

Marina · 05/07/2007 12:15

Loved him. Am awfully sad . He is an almost exact contemporary of my dad, who shares a jaundiced view of the Senior Service and a love of surrealism with the late George.
Typical that despite the onset of vacular dementia he was doing a benefit gig for a relevant charity as recently as June 10th.

MrsJohnCusack · 05/07/2007 12:22

it is sad

slight hijack - Marina how cool is it that Emma Kirkby is now a Dame?

TinyGang · 05/07/2007 12:23

Oh that's sad

I think he had quite an interesting collection of surrealist art didn't he?

Marina · 05/07/2007 12:45

V cool MrsJC. It's taken the edge here off losing Max Morgan AND Thea King in recent weeks

MrsJohnCusack · 05/07/2007 12:53

THEA KING DIED?

oh no I didn't realise
she was lovely, I used to look after her when I worked at HOwarths

MrsJohnCusack · 05/07/2007 12:55

Marina · 05/07/2007 14:29
