I don’t work and both my children are now at school and I am totally lost at what to do during the 6 hours between school runs. What do other parents do?

Get a job?

Find a hobby?

Sleep?

I have looked at the gym/exercise, learning a language but it seems just like filling time and not getting any satisfaction from it.

My partner works away all over the world 75% of the time so I gave up work to support him and look after the family, not looking at going back to work at the moment.

Voluntary work? Study?

No one can really answer this. It has to be something that interests you. If you can volunteer somehow in something you enjoy that would be an option.

I used to do as much housework, shopping. cooking etc as I could so that I would be able to be there for the DCs when they came out of school.

I used to help in school quite often - reading, sewing, going on the local trips to the shops etc, as many of the working parents couldn't do the odd hour. I didn't volunteer for the day trips as I knew lots liked to take a whole day off work for those.

Time for any hobbies you might be interested in - gardening, sewing, singing, crafting, fitness?

Thank you, I think volunteering with the school will be a good idea as at least then I am still free during school holidays.
