So I was dropping off ds at school this morning, and there is an ongoing issue/problems with parking. The school is in a village on a residential street so its a nightmare at drop off and pick up times. There is a car park about 200 yards from the school which everyone used to use but then we were all told that its for staff only. They put cones to block the entrance at drop off/pick up, even though the carpark is half empty.
This morning after drop off I was pulling off and one of said cones was laying at the side of the road. While trying to turn round I managed to knock the cone over and proceeded to drag it down the road right in front of the whole village. Despite wanting to flee the scene as quickly as possible, it was making a rather loud scraping sound so I had no choice to pull over... right at the school gates, perfect. Yes, the world and his wife was looking at me and I'd of been happy to drop dead right at that moment. One of the fathers there, who I actually know from my own school days, was walking past and luckily took pity on me. I manged to reverse while he pulled and dislodged the cone but it took a very long couple of tries. I'm one of those mothers that doesn't seem to blend in with the others, the one thats stood waiting not chatting. So to have them all staring was mortifying!! I was not looking forward to pick up time, but I managed to get through it with my hood up and head down. Please let me know if anyone has had a mortify moment lately.. it might make me feel a bit better at drop off tomorrow (couldn't of been the last day , could it).
