Does anyone know if you can switch off the front airbag in a Subaru Legacy?

I have checked the manual and I can't find any way to switch it off. My youngest is only a couple of months old and I would prefer to drive around with him next to me if possible.

Thanks.

Sorry I can't help but I have exactly the same question about a Mercedes B Class so maybe some clever person can help us both?

My sister has owned various Subarus, and she says it has not been possible in any of hers, and she checked as she wanted to be able to have her dd in the front passenger seat. She has never driven the Legacy.

It looks like it isn't possible.... ...my dh insisted on a subaru and I have to say so far I am not that impressed with it for 3 kids - it is a real squeeze fitting 3 car seats across the back.
