My dd has decided to colour her Baby Benjimin with purple felt-tip. She is now distraught because I cannot get it off. Does anyone know how to solve this problem. It is on his face.

Methaliated spirits or liquid detergent is suggested for fabrics and wallpaper - could give it a go.

somebody on another thread suggested hairspray for getting it off textiles.

Meths is supposed to work

OR Make up a hot solution of soapflakes and apply as a poultice on a white fabric pad (white towel/flannel etc). If you don't have soapflakes, try bicarb instead. Leave for at least 15 minutes./ could also use a carpet spotting kit and possibly carpet shampoo if that doesn't work. Or a stain remover like vanish, or bleach.

It will be harder to remove if dried in, so if it's still wet, keep it that way by spraying cold water until you get it off...

hairspray works for a ball point pen, try it?

sportyspice · 03/09/2004 21:43

I find Jif and other abrasive products like this are very good with a bit of a scrub, got pen off leather suite and off floor. Good luck

Just had another thought, what about the sponge pads that vanish are advertising (think it's vanish) it is the advert with the bloke from Brushstrokes, think it's flash actually but they recommend them for getting pen off the wall so why not Baby Benjamin?

I would try nail varnish remover and then rinse straight away afterwards with water. Hopefully this won't take off any of the face.

sportyspice, I wish just thinking of them but couldn't remember the name. I have used them on my walls (to clean grubby handprints, marks etc) and they are very good!

blossomhill- they are very good, so good they also took the paint off!!! but hopefully Baby Benjamin won't suffer any ill effects assumpta
