Pink bedrooms for boys?

My DS(6 1/2) has announced he wants his bedroom pink.
I'm in the middle of planning to redecorate my bedroom and the living room after we've done some swapping around. I've been browsing paint catalogues and picking up paint chip cards. He's been loving helping me choose and plan and tonight asked if we could paint his bedroom too. I said we could do it at February half term and asked what he wants and he showed me the brightest pink paint in the catalogue,

Pink has been his favourite colour since he was 3 and I've not deliberately discouraged that. I don't have a problem with him having pink. He has pink clothes, pink toys and teddies, pink bedding, pink wellies. He always wants the "girl one" in toy sets.
But painting his bedroom pink... I'm not up for painting it again for 2 years. He says that's ok, but what do I do if he's too embarrassed to have friends over in 6 months? I don't want to be a meanie further down the line by insisting he sticks by his choice, but I also don't have the time or the money to redecorate his bedroom every 6 months.

Any suggestions for manly pink? Gender-neutral pink?
Do we make it a pig-themed room? Please help!

How about just one pink wall then?
Many adult men sleep in pink bedrooms under floral covers so should't be a problem for boys either.

Plainsong/neutral walls with pink accessories.

I’d suggest that whatever colour he’d asked for, cheaper and easier to change around in future.

I wouldn’t try and dress it up as a ‘pig theme’ or ‘manly pink’. He’s allowed to like pink! Just plain old, bog standard pink.

I’d probably go for one wall pale pink. If you go for bright fuscia pink it’s really difficult to paint over if he changes his mind. I had to paint over a bright pink wall one and it took me about 4 coats of really thick paint.
It shouldn’t cost much to paint over in the future, just save half a tin of left over neutral paint from the other walls in anticipation!

What about a pinky/purple? Like 10 or 15 on picture?

Pink penises?

I'm always a big fan of navy and pink for boys or girls.
Navy wall with some pink and gold decorative accessories could work!

I think you could do a really cool wall with pink, navy and yellow. Like a geometric pattern.

We've painted one bedroom in Wickes Cherry Drop with white chalk paint shelving etc, looks lovely. It is a pink, but it's gutsy rather than sweet, IYKWIM?
Google the colour, see if it might work!

We have a sort of pinky sandy brown, might have been called oyster (been a while) or you could be a little economical with the truth and say you need to wait until the summer, he may get teased pretty badly if it's full on pink
