Anyone have any tips for helping with dentist phobia?

CBT.

Or see a dentist who specialises in treating people with dentist phobia.

I moved to a lovely dentist who was really good with phobic patients. She explained everything to me and was very patient. Meditating before and during treatment worked and, bizarrely, found that if I hummed while she was doing her thing, it really calmed me down.

Sedatives did not work for me, just made me more agitated as I felt I wasn't in control and couldn't communicate properly.

Now I quite enjoy going the dentist, it's just an opportunity for a little lie down!
