Watching tv
Playing on the computer
Playing with his brothers and sister (often rough cushion throwing games or races or sword fights)
Building with Duplo bricks
Jigsaw puzzles
Sometimes draws with sister
Some board games eg Sorry
Counting everything
Reciting phone numbers
Listening to cds
Riding his bike
Going to playgroup

How long a list do you want?

Was is your point?

jackie2kids · 25/06/2007 20:03

Mainly running, jumping and fighting.

tassis · 25/06/2007 20:03

thanks DG...sounds like our lads are quite similar!

just feel ds is a bit stuck in a rut with his train track and duplo...nursery ends in 3 days for the summer holidays...it's raining and i'm looking for good ideas!

he'd watch TV and play computer all day if I let him

he often asks to bake and paint but i need to be in the mood (bad mummy!)

Watches Tv
Plays with playmobil
Plays cars
Playdough
Rides bike/ go kart
Likes to help me bake/ clean
Wrestles older brother
Draws
Playmobil fave toy though - helicopter rescue set.

DumbledoresGirl · 25/06/2007 20:08

Oh yes we do sound similar too!

I always used to tell my children that painting was what they could do at playgroup. I hate any messy activity as I find it hard to stay with the child and keep things under control all the time.

Have you older children too? I have 3 older ones and I find that a godsend. Ds3 (the 4 yo) will sit with his sister and draw or paint or make patterns with hama beads for far longer than I could bear to sit with him and generally there is limited mess too.

GooseyLoosey · 25/06/2007 20:09

Playing with anything but toys - old coffee maker, extension cable, crates anything really but give him a toy and he's bored to tears.

Playing games with dd (nearly 3) as long as she plays by his rules. They spent yesterday hunting and incarcerating burglars and leaving traps around the house for them.

Tormenting dd.

Anything that involves mud - preferably over something that he knows I won't approve of.

Books.

Bike and scooter.

tassis · 25/06/2007 20:10

ds is older brother to 9 month old dd and he loves playing with her which is cute but there's not a big lot she can do

she's very into putting things in her mouth which is putting me off playmobil (that and the fact that I'm a control freak and would want all the pieces in their proper place in a box with a laminated label and that's just not going to happen!)

my 4 yo's favourite game is annoying his brother

He spends HOURS lining up his cars in car parks and then in lines.

musicianswidowAKAmumofmonsters · 25/06/2007 20:13

obvioulsy he does other things but that is his fave.

RedLorryYellowLorry · 25/06/2007 20:13

Cars, cars, cars, trains, cars ...

Computer, TV, riding his bike, doing "break dancing", doing his "exercises", running, football, fighting with his sister, dressing up with his sister (as a girl mostly) and making a mess of his bedroom

tassis · 25/06/2007 20:14

(gosh isn't it fummy how similar they all are!)

OP posts:
tassis · 25/06/2007 20:15

Ds is nearly 4
loves his playmobil, I have an 18mth old and 5mths old too so he knows playmobil is either played with at the table[out of their reach] or when they are having a nap. Or he can play in his room at any time!!

He is very much like DG described although his quite annoying sometimes and repetitive. Luckily there is a lovely 4yr old boy over the road who relieves some of the stress for me..lol

tassis · 25/06/2007 20:54

((off to check out playmobil on ebay...))
