Anyone work for BLOOMSBURY...or know anyone.....

Hallo.
I have won 2 tickets to the midnight signing of the last Harry Potter book.We are thrilled...BUT...i logged onto Bloomsbury's secure server and read terms and conds and kids have to be 8 years old.Ds will be 8 4 weeks after the 21st.I have emailed them asking if we can still go but have no reply yet.Feel very silly that i didn't spot it.What do you reckon chances are of them saying ok?It may be for insurance purposes.Just wondered if anyone would have an idea really?

No I'm sure will be fine - where is the signing? What they're trying to avoid are lots of screamy 5 year olds who shouldn't be there but have overly-enthusiastic parents, and just want kids who are up for it, if you see what I mean?

I am woried though.We live in the Republic of Ireland and i dn't want to chance it incase they turn us away!
The signing is in the Natural History Museum..our time is 04.30!on 21st July.

Well HOW are they going to know? She's not going to have to produce her passport. I'd have thought they'd be grateful to have someone turn up at 4.30!

I have read somewhere that you need id but that didnt stop me from entering. Wasnt chosen though!

how ridiculous - do they think they are going to be overwhelmed with mad harry potter fans, breaking down the doors?

they probably just need ID to make sure you are Mrs Doobypoo and not someone else.

perhaps it's a bit scary (whatever they have planned). I'm sure it'll be fine and if it isn't, kick up a huge fuss

I would like them to reply to my 3 emails as just need to know one way or the other.I think i am more upset an ds

I think the id thing is also to stop people flogging the tickets on ebay.But want the age ting clarified.

My typos

in their FAQs about the event (on their website), it says NOTHING about being over 8. All it says is that if you are under 16, you need an adult with you.

I'll never be a millionaire, I would never think "oh I'll get these tickets and sell them to make a profit" if I was lucky enough to get some and couldnt go I would give them back or pass on to a friend if allowed.

Exactly how i would be Mrs Weasley.One of the reasons i have emailed to ask about ds's age is that if we did trek over from Ireland and didn't get in,aside from a wasted journey,the tickets could go to someone else.If i had em i would send them to you!But,i will not click the confirn button unless i am sure we can go.

Why silly? How clear did they make it when you entered the competition? I mean, people don't always read the small print and that shouldn't be as big a deal as other terms and conditions, eg competitions have to exclude employees of companies running them and their relatives. I really hope they say ok, and that you'll post the outcome of this.

Thanks elkiedee...i suppose they must have mentioned it but i didn't see it.That bit is closed now so i cannot check...nothing leapt out at me anyway.I will let you know what happens but haven't heard yet.
