Pressie for Mum's 60th

Only 2 weeks to go, and very little inspiration.

We're looking at c. £250

For Dad's last year we got him a day driving a steam train.

Pretty sure health farm/pamper day is not what she wants.

Any ideas?

I got my mum a balloon ride for her 60th, which was what she had always wanted. She had so much fun that I've promised to get her another one for her 70th in 5 yrs time.

We had a Virgin one which took off locally so she knew the landscape that she was seeing. We were really hoping that it would come over the house, as we get loads that do come over, but the wind blew the wrong way so she went somewhere else.

Or how about flying a plane? Trip on the UK section of the Orient Express (friend did that for her parents' wedding anniversary and they had a great time), um, fly to Paris for shopping and dinner?

a photo portrait of all her children/grandchildren together, if this is logistically possible.

Does she enjoy cooking? A day at one of the cookery courses places, run by the celebrity chefs.

Trip on the Orient Express (they do a day trip in the UK including lunch etc, not sure of costs but I think it's in your price range)

A flying lesson or 2.

What are her hobbies?

Does she like driving at all, fisil? Only one of my ambitions is one of those rally driving experience things (wanted it for 50th but eyesight wasn't up to much, am saving it up for 60th now!)

Great experience days
flying days
memorise this activities
buyagift

etc etc etc!

Champneys? (don't know where you are, may be miles away!

Thanks for the ideas. Four links in one post JanH - a record surely!

She gets travel sick very easily and so I don't think flying or anything adrenalin like is really for her. I think even the ascent in a hot air balloon would probably make her sick.

I like the idea of a family photo (except that my brothers are both so ugly lol). However, I thought of that, or of one of those photo bags. But it seems a very odd thing to do, seeing as I am currently pg with what could very well be her last grandchild.

I've just thought. What about commissioning a painting of somewhere she loves. Has anyone ever done this?
