Did anyone buy a soft toy from Ikea about four years ago? (Yes I know - pushing it here) The one we need is a black and white cat (some have thought dog) about 1 foot in length.

This was ds comfort toy, has slept with him everynight since birth, now gone for good (lost) and now we are all shattered that it has gone. He is so upset and waking with nightmares. Help, anyone got one?

Got it essbee!!! It is so new looking compared to the dirty scabby thing that went missing!!!!

Thankyou a million times......not shown it to him yet as I thought i would take it down to the sandpit in the park where it was lost and let him find it himself......photo to follow soon...he will be overjoyed and you should have seen my dh's face when he saw it, you would think it was his comfort toy!!!!

Promise to send pic to you soon, lots of love, so happy! midden xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx

I'm brimming up here! What a happy ending. Got to see the photo - I'll be a blubbing mess for days afterwards.

Hello essbee and anyone else following this poignant tale. Well last night after ds went to bed I stuck miaow in the wash with some navy things in an attempt to get him to look a wee bit more like the greyish original!!

Me and dh sat there for an looking at this toy debating the best way to give it to ds, or for him to find it, coming up with many scenarios to explain his notable absence.....eventually we could hold on no longer and crept into his room and snuggled miaow in with him, he didn't rouse.

This morning he shot through to our room and the only way to describe him: ecstatic. He could hardly speak! When he did we were nearly in tears. He said he was so happy that miaow had "crawled in through the letterbox in the night because it was cold outside"

Here he is at bedtime tonight snuggling down for a full nights sleep with no nightmares about miaow being lonely in the sand!!!

I don't think I need to say anymore!!

Essbee thanks so much for answering my post - a huge hug to you. Also for sending so quickly, thanks again, you are an angel xxxxxxxxx
