Did anyone buy a soft toy from Ikea about four years ago? (Yes I know - pushing it here) The one we need is a black and white cat (some have thought dog) about 1 foot in length.

This was ds comfort toy, has slept with him everynight since birth, now gone for good (lost) and now we are all shattered that it has gone. He is so upset and waking with nightmares. Help, anyone got one?

yes we did. Haven't seen it for ages as DD has grown out of it, but will look for it tomorrow when I can get access to her room. If it's the one that I'm thinking of it is lying flat and has a patch over it's eye? You are welcome to have it if I can find it and if I haven't charity shopped it. Hope it's there..... Will post tomorrow.

hilarious jnbsmum. We also have an ikea toy from four years ago, but NOT the same one, and dd is still pretty attached to it (bunny) and it would be disastrous to lose it, so I do hope you get the perfect match for your ds midden! Fingers crossed for you.

just looked at photo of this and not sure if he does have a patch over his eye.......just on his body. Can anyone else help me here? DS in tears for an hour this morning and I am close to it too.

poor DD!!! midden, never seen this kind of toy in my life but i was thinking, on IKEA website, is there a customer service pnone no, e-mail you could use to contact them and ask if they can source the toy for you. if they could, buy 2 of them! if you say you have a photo of the toy as well, you could perhaps e-mail it to them. good luck!

Just come out the this nightmare with ds2, so know how you feel £50 on teddies and he now is sleeping again, although missing his original. Sorry can't help, fyi it took about 2.5 weeks of sleepness nights for ds2 to finally settle,with alot of "teddy, teddy" thrown in to make you feel bad.

thanks branster, we did go down this route about 18 months ago after a few scares. Ikea told us the toy is not made anymore and we are unlikely to get another one from them. Feel s**t as I know I should never have allowed the thing to leave the house.
