Do you have a secret ritual that you do when your DP goes away for long periods?

DH is going away next week to the USA on business. Obviously I will miss him as will our 3yo DTS. However, when he goes away for these long period, I do look forward to something. I look forward to........

Eating a small pack of salted cashew nuts in the house whilst watching a DVD. Now, how sad is that? DH has severe nut allergy so obviously we do not have nut products in the house or give them to the boys because they have not been tested yet.

So on the first night on my own, I will treat myself to some nuts, a glass of Baileys, throw away the nut wrapper carefully so that the boys are not exposed and that's me sorted..

If I order a chinese takeaway/delivery I order a container of cashew nuts as an extra. Cost £2 last for ages.

My secret ritual though is to sleep on his side of the bed the first night, not because I prefer his side but just because I can.

Clean sheets and sleep in middle of bed. Ready meals with glass of wine eaten in sitting room watching all the TV he loathes.

My DH goes away alot too and whilst I obviously love him very much I do enjoy the chance to do my own thing in the evening.

I usually get myself comfy on the sofa, watch some films, eat chocolate, drink wine and mumsnet!

Eating pizza or some other cheese-based meal (dh hates cheese), drinking lots of red wine (when not pg), whilst slobbing out on the sofa in PJs.

I used to cook myself liver strogenoff (sp) cos he hates liver
used to really enjoy it

chocolate, biscuits, more chocolate and mumsnet!

I clean the house the minute he's gone and marvel at how it stays tidy until he returns, despite two DC.

Actually, I love liver but DH hates it so I will treat myself this weekend and try it out on the twins too.

I buy some fags and smoke myself sick. (but only if he's taken the kids because now they can talk I am afraid they will rat me out!!)
