When did you go grey?

I am starting to get paranoid about my hair turning grey, when did you start to notice grey?

I had my first grey hair at 12! It's hereditary, my grandmother was totally white by the time she was 25!

I have a big, white Morticia Adams-style streak in the middle, but have dyed it since I was 134

The first time I noticed it was 3 months after I had my first child, and I got my long, naturally blond hair cut (she was always grabbing it and it got in the way). All of a sudden I had short, mousy brown hair with a few greys at the temples. I was 27. I've had it colored ever since!

I thik I've been getting grey hairs for the past 3 or 4 years. Am amazed by how many I actually have, when I see my roots through the hairdye!

Am 31 and have been slowly turning grey for about a year. Basically since ds was born lol!

It's getting quite bad now and am thinking of dyeing it. I like grey hair actually but not the inbetween half-grey and half-normal stage!

I'm 28 now and have a reasonable number. They first appeared while I was still at uni - so under 22 -eek.

My dad went totally grey at 12 and in mid 50s still showing no signs of balding, but has totally white hair. He thinks he looks like Steve Martin, I lean more towards Captain Birdseye

I started to go grey at 16. I'm now 36 and I'm approx 30% grey. I've always dyed my hair but I've let it grow out during pregnancy - it's not actually that bad and I think it looks better than grey roots!

BUT, after all those years I'd forgotton just how many dark red hairs I have. FIL was red, and DH was red until puberty - OMG, loads of potential for a ginger child - eeeeeeeeeek!!!!

Apart from the odd freak grey hair, I started to get grey hairs when I had ds1 (aged 31) and it got bad enough to need dyeing when I had my fourth child last year (aged 38) but I still hate having to dye it. Maybe I should age naturally, but I'm still only in my thirties (just!)

At around 28. Now 38, I'm probably about 50% grey, but dye it. Went through a phase of trying to grow it out, but it looked so hideous that I gave up and started dying it again. Have decided to go for grown up multi-toned streaks when I'm 40!

Do you dye it yourself or go to the hairdresser? I was mortified when the hairdresser said "Do you dye your hair yourself?" As if it was so badly done it was obvious!

I always do it myself, and I know it looks crap, but until I've grown it out, there's no point paying professional prices for it. But I always get sick of waiting for it to grow out, so do it myself again...

Exactly how I feel. Does a professional colour last any longer? It can't do can it? The roots would still show.

I am 31 and so far don't have any grey hairs - I keep checking!!! My mum started to go grey at 19 when she was pg with me. I am dreading it as I have never dyed my hair since being a student years ago - I have psorasis of the scalp and I just know it'll hurt!

Ooo, I feel so good!! 41 next month and only the occasional grey hair which gets plucked immediately. However, I do have red hair and read that people with this colour are the last to go grey!! Something good about it at last!!

I used to do it myself, and thought it looked OK. About a year ago I started having it done professionally, and it does make a big difference. No, it doesn't last any longer but I find that it looks more natural when it's growing out. Also, my hairdresser does a base colour and then highlights and it looks a lot less artificial.

I started 2 notice the odd i in my early twenties , but now have loads( I am 31) & they have definetly got worse since having my 2nd child!
