Who knows about internet scams?

I got an e mail telling me that Bill Gates will send me a cheque for forwarding the email on.
How does this scam work? it's not as if it's asking me for money.

I have received loads of e-mails about free marks and spencer vouchers in association with persimmon homes if you pass it on. Has anyone seen that? I haven't passed any on because I think it is too good to be true and i could be passing on a virus.

You're not passing on a virus you're passing on email addresses which can then be used to encourage people to buy viagra, cialis, xenical all that crap.

perhaps they ask for your bank details in order to pay you.

I don't believe I'm a make up queen, although I did once ask about good foundation.

They just use them to harvest email addresses.

A word of warning about a web site that looks like Hobbs but isn't, it's a cheap Chinese rip off, silly me I didn't take time to research and got sent the most rubbish t shirt dress that looks nothing like the Coast dress it was supposed to be, can't believe I was had!!
