Villages around Petersfield or Midhurst

Looking to make the move around this area with three young children. Keen to move to a village that is rural, has a bit of soul and thriving community to it, ideally a pub and a shop/cafe at least. Would be grateful for suggestions and some pros/cons with your suggestions to get a balanced view. Many thanks!

Can't offer any advice but this is exactly what we are looking into now too...have you come across anywhere? Are your kids school age? We are desperate to move but the difficulty of finding schools with places is enough to make you not want to move at all...

Hi lloupey - any luck on your search?! Yes our children are school age too so it's a lot of moving pieces to try and tie in. From brief visits we quite like the look of Buriton and Stedham but to be honest we've really not got much of an update and need to get back on to exploring some villages - plenty of pretty places and in the countryside, it's the balance of having somewhere with some community and life to it that's the tricky part to suss out. Would love to hear from you if you have any more insights?...
