I have recently started a new job and although only a 6.5 mile journey the commute is hellish and can take up to an hour due to rush hour traffic.
I am contemplating purchasing an electric bike. There are bus and bike lanes along most of the journey which I could use. A normal bike is out of the question as there are a fair few hills and there are no shower facilities at work.
Does anyone else use an electric bike to commute and would you recommend it? They do seem very expensive but I hope I would save money in the long run and cut down commute time. I really don't want to spend much more than £800. I have seen a few 2nd hand for sale but think it may be better to buy new?
