Oh I am so fed up.
I really really really hate our car.
We went camping last weekend so had to take the two back seats out. This is always a nightmare. You have to contort yourself and it usually takes ages. Well we got it done but today I need to put the seats back in as they are too bulky and heavy to store anywhere else!

Having dragged them back to the car I then have to spend 30 minutes trying to get them back in. The mechanism is totally hit and miss. There is no knack to it - sometimes they go in and sometimes they don't. Its really hot, really uncomfortable and SUCH A WASTE OF MY PRECIOUS TIME.

You have to put the middle row of seats forward to get them in, otherwise the knob on that row to tilt the seats forward ends up breaking off. We've lost two so far. However when I put the middle seat forward (hassle in itself as this is where the baby seat goes which is also hassle to get out) this seat bumped out of its mountings meaning now I've got another one to try and fit. 20 minutes later I've given up but will have to crack it at some point as otherwise I'll have a loose seat bouncing around. I just don't understand why it is so b**y hard just to fit some seats?

Am I the only one who struggles? Is there a small part of my brain dedicated to fitting seats which is defunct? Does anyone have any tips?

I AM SO FED UP NOW

All the mpv's are pretty much the same in that regard ime - drives me mad, and they are so heavy and bang my legs as i'm doing it -ouch.
Do you need all 7 seats because if you don't might be worth considering changing cars to something with a big boot for camping trips, just mentioned it as you say you have to put them back for storage, not becuase they are needed for sitting on.

Would love to get rid of this car as it constantly needs servicing and keeps getting things wrong with it. However depreciation in the 15 months we've had it seems to be about £3-4,000!!!!!! Which is more than our landrover has depreciated in 6 years! So can't justify letting it go, otherwise would prefer a smaller car or if we stuck with an MPV(to get grannie in) then I think you can get them with fold down seats that disappear into the floor rather than having to take them out. To me that will be the most important factor with our next car.

However doesn't help with this bloomin' seat now. Grrrrrrrrrr
