How often do you redecorate your house/flat?

The flat was redecorated 2.5 years ago, and it is looking in need of another coat of paint. Is that fairly typical in a house/flat with kids?

How often do you have your place done? Do you have it all done at once, or only the 'worst' rooms as needed?

Any idea what it would cost in central London (generally) for a 2 bed flat?

We do it our selves every Easter all the way through ... but DH was brought up by his Nanna who always painted through every Easter herself, (we live in an ex mining village, it made every where very dirty) and he will not deviate, we have the routine down pat now tho.
I hate it please will someone rescue me this man is a freak

Our upstairs rooms havn't been done since we moved in 5.5 years ago.

And my dh is a Painter and Decorator...and his father...and his nephew

I would say 2 years is about right as its 2 and a half years since my house has been decorated and it needs done again. I`d just love 60 minute makeover to come and do it for me right now!

Floo you redecorate the whole huse every year ?

Hulababy · 11/06/2007 22:08

We moved here two years ago, come September. DD's room was painted day before we moved in, Rest is still builder's magnolia - all very thin with plaster peeping through in places. It really neeeds some decent coats of paint.

Yeah, but I still hate it, we have no wallpaper, and none of the walls are painted in two halves, so as it is done once a yr, we make sure the walls are clean and then it only needs one coat.

Every 2 to 3 years, room by room, we do it. We just did ds's room last year, and the walls are BLACK from hand and footprints and god knows what.
