This is a real long shot but does anyone know what this error message that comes up every time I start up my computer means. I have to confess that it has been happening for a couple of months and I have just been pressing ok. Anyway the message is:-

RUNDLL
Error loading c:\windows\system32\MSA64CHK dll
The specified module could not be found.

I will be very surprised if anyone does know but very grateful if they go!

are you on Windows XP?

In my windows XP book it says that you can go to the microsoft website knowledge base and search for info on your error message and get step by step advice on how to solve the problem.

this is the link
It says this page is not available but there is a link there to support homepage which might help.
Hope this helps

The MS knowledge base is fab - there are a whole set of bulletin boards to post your question on. They've sorted out lots of errors for me. I use this bit of the site. Puts you in touch with computer geeks everywhere!!

Thank you both v. much. I really didn't think I would get any response!

Yes Linnet I am on Windows XP!

Have you got a disk in the floppy drive?

Hi Blossom Hill

Just been talking to my dh, who suggests visiting www.windowsbbs.com

This is bulletein board with real tech support gurus who really know what they are on about! You may need to sign up for it but you won't get bombarded with junk mail etc.

HTH.

bh - googling the error msg throws up this link :

forums.computeractive.co.uk/thread.jsp?forum=6&thread=31306&message=162100

on this page there is a link to this www.kephyr.com/spywarescanner/library/mostrardialer/index.phtml which contains removal instructions

I've no idea if this is the problem / solution or not but it might be worth a look - HTH

soupdragon that link you posted was great have found some help for my problem with msn messenger, not fixed yet but getting there

sorry didn't mean to hijack thread.

SoupDragon · 24/08/2004 08:00

That forum has installed my digital camera, found a virus that Norton couldn't and sorted out a persistent "blue screen of death" error message. It's one of my first ports of call if I have a MS problem.

Glad it helped you, Linnet!
