Don't know why I'm posting really, other then it's upsetting me.

I've been offered a 2 bed house which is my dream as I'm currently in a 2 bed 3rd floor flat with my 1 year old.
Yet I'm distraught as I don't know anyone that can move me or has a van to help. I'm a single full time mum with sever anxiety on benefits.
I just feel like it's all one big nightmare.

Thanks for reading xx

That's great about the house. But sorry to hear about the anxiety.
Have you been to the GP? They could refer you to counselling /give you ADs or BetaBlockers to get you through this patch. Have you tried the app Headspace? Great for calming the soul.
I think when you find a way to manage the anxiety everything else will feel more manageable.

Crownandheelshigh · 19/09/2018 22:12

I'm on anti depressants for there anxiety sides but will go back to gp about beta blockers etc.

It is great about the move but I'm just stuck where I don't know how I'm gunna move. Xx

Discretionary housing benefit may help. Contact your local housing benefit, as they may help.
www.turn2us.org.uk/Benefit-guides/Discretionary-Housing-Payment/What-is-a-Discretionary-Housing-Payment

Have a search on there for other help.
Health visitor might also know of charities
Same with CAB

Family action www.family-action.org.uk/what-we-do/grants/

There is help out there. You just need to know about it.

Crownandheelshigh · 19/09/2018 22:49

Thank you @theworldistoosmall

Dhp have said they can't help (due to helping when I came out of foster care when I was 18 as social applied (now 25).

Will have a look at other links tomorrow. Thank you xx

Did you have much luck crownandheels?

Crownandheelshigh · 20/09/2018 18:54

@Clearthinking no, apparently no where does "moving cost* grants 😔.

Starting to just give up hope xx

Clearthinking · 20/09/2018 19:36

Don't give up hope. Have you got long to your moving date? When I need some spare cash I sell a load of old toys, clothes, junk on gumtree/ebay. Not even sure how much it costs for a removal van now days? Hope you manage it. Anxiety is flipping awful.

Crownandheelshigh · 20/09/2018 19:53

@Clearthinking still waiting for them to confirm 😔.

Even if I sold everything I owned it wouldn't be enough.

It's horrible. Just feel like my dreams now a nightmare xxx

Have you emailed/called Shelter? They're a housing charity and do help with furnishings etc so would likely be able to advise or even directly help with moving costs. Also the Citizens Advice Bureau. They could possibly point you in the direction of local charities/funds that might be able to help.
Look in local ads. There will be i am sure, a 'man with a van' ad. Maybe if you've not got a huge amount of stuff asking someone like that might not be too expensive. If you have a driving license you could probably hire a decent sized van and move yourself.
Good luck. If I didn't live hundreds of miles away I'd offer assistance. Moving is stressful. Hope you can get it sorted.

Moonflower12 · 20/09/2018 23:11

I'm near you OP. There is a man and van ad for £15 per hour on Google. He's the 2nd one down. Sorry I don't know how to do links.

Moonflower12 · 20/09/2018 23:11

I can't drive otherwise I'd help.

Moonflower12 · 20/09/2018 23:14

Someone may be able to help you if you post on Freecycle too. There is a SuA one.

Crownandheelshigh · 20/09/2018 23:14

Hello lovely ladies...

Quick update - my p3 worker has said she knows a company that may help but it's not guarenteed

(My fave bit) - they have offered me another house instead (apparently other one isn't suitable) but this one is a new build...
So I'm dreaming and keeping occupied about all the lovely decorating and finally getting my dream curtains etc.

Xxx
