Dark under eye shadows

Can anyone recommend an under eye concealer for a medium dark brown complexion that can look yellowy at times (especially if I haven't seen much sun) as I have always suffered from dark shadows under my eyes. I am pretty useless when it comes to make up - I don't wear foundation or anything but I would like to try something for as they make me look tired all the time and despite being 6.5 months pregnant I don't want to look how I feel if you know what I mean

Touche Eclat by Yves Saint Laurent. It is excellent and well worth £21 IMO.

I too bought that touch eclat but it made the skin under my eyes very dry,but I've not heard anyone else complain about it so it must just be me!

I think touche eclat is brilliant - but my mum also found that it made her skin very dry. The Body Shop do a fairly good and much cheaper alternative - cant remember what its called though.

I use it too, expensive but lasts for ages. I think it was £15 in the Britannia airways catalogue last week if you know anyone that's going away. R

Bodyshop one is called Lightening Touch and I use it at all my parties and sell quite a bit of it too. Make sure you put it on with a brush and not the applicator it comes with as it can go on abit thick and look like you have tried to cover something. Also put over your foundation.

I like the Estee Lauder one, I think it's called Lighten Up. Pricey but lasts for ages, and not too dry or cakey-looking. I have the dark under-eye shadows too - apparently it's hereditary!

Thanks for the recommendations guys. I have heard of the YSL one but do you think it would be ok for darker skins?

I have always had dark circles under my eyes and have tried touch eclat but didn't think it was great, maybe it is because my skin is too dark for it. Would love to find something that worked!!

Touche Eclat makes the skin under my eyes go very sore and flaky if I use it regularly, and it takes a while for the skin to get back to normal again. I know someone else this happens to as well. Avon do quite a good under eye cream for dark shadows but I can't remember the name , sorry.

mollipops · 30/07/2002 07:06

oops I checked last night and it's actually called Disappear. Do you have Estee Lauder in the UK?

debster · 30/07/2002 10:30

Yes we do have Estee Lauder here.

I'm such a novice when it comes to make-up, especially as I don't have white/pink skin! I think I'm going to have to trawl around Boots or Debenhams and try some on.

Clinique do an "Active White" range of products which I find quite good (but not cheap!) They come in white boxes instead of the normal green.

I love clinique's new(ish) 'line smoothing concealer', it really sorts out my eye baggage! Its only £11 and lasts for ages...
