Help with choosing a ring for a man

My boyfriend wears a ring on his right little finger, and I was wanting to buy him another ring, but I don't know which finger to buy one for. Any suggestions as I don't know which finger it would look better to go on (I am sorry that this is such a stupid question to ask)

Middle finger, thumb?

Don't think it matters that much. I have 2 rings on my right hand and 4 on my left. I used to have a thumb ring on the right hand as well, but the ring broke. Dh only has his wedding ring.
