car seat after minor accident

my dh had a crash with my car at the weekend. Dd was with him in her car seat. Both were fine and it was the passenger side headlight and wing panel that got a dent in it. But do I get a new car seat or not. Its being done through insurance so my first instinct is just to get one and not even to think about taking a chance but is it a bit of a waste and should I also get a new baby one as my son's seat was in the car(not him though)

any ideas???

replace the one that had the child in it

the other one should be fine

I think the baby seat would be considered fine since it wasn't in use so the harness etc wasn't subject to any force unelss it was actually affetced by the damage to the body work etc. Less sure about your dd's was there any jolt or just a coming together at negligible speed. We had minor bumps and didn't replace them .

there was not much speed as it happened coming around a roundabout so don't think there would have been much of a jolt
