A little about the film: The working title for this Horizon film is The Honest Supermarket. The premise of the film to is reveal the truth about what's really in supermarket products and how they are made. We want to decipher the often confusing ingredients on the product labels, explore the packaging claims and reveal the tricks used to potentially make consumers believe that a product is fresher, healthier and more environmentally friendly than it may be. Stories may include things such as how far does your fish travel before it reaches your supermarket, the difference between bottled water and tap water, how old is the meat in the supermarket and whether expensive brands contain better ingredients than supermarket own brand products. And a whole lot more.
Some information for you: we will be filming at a location in North London and will need contributors there from 8am until 10:30am on Wednesday 22nd August. You will be asked to give your opinion on a variety of supermarket products, as well as some answers on more specific questions e.g. do you drink bottled water and if yes why? We will be reimbursing travel costs within reason, so please keep your receipts, and if you would like us to book train for you please let us know. We will also be providing refreshments on set.
