Working to exsist

I work long hours as does my partner min wage jobs we have a teenage son but I feel like all we do is struggle we don't have holidays days out anything we have a pet dog and cat which we love and enjoy but we don't drink smoke socialise nothing I feel all I do is work work just yo be able to just manage to pay bills and struggle to buy food no disposable income what so ever I never buy new clothes even Charity shops is a treat so sick of just exsisting

Sheard, I really feel for you. I was in a poor financial position with husband and a teenager years ago and it was quite demoralising. Sometimes we weren't able to pay bills, at least not on time and were always worried but the worst thing was not being able to afford things for child.

The only thing I can say to you is that it will come to an end. Bit by bit you'll find yourself better off - pay rises, smaller mortgage, things paid off, inheritances, all happen. Then one day you realise you're in a better place and you'll feel better. When that happens, appreciate it and enjoy yourself!

One thing that came out of all this for me and for my husband is determination that our child will never be in that position, we will make sure of it.
