bathroom renovation - how much to budget?

We need to put an offer in quickly on a property and are doing some last-minute number crunching. Could anyone help me out with some ballpark numbers on how much it would cost to renovate a bathroom? It's a small-ish bathroom, toilet and sink could probably stay as is, we would want to replace the tub with a walk-in shower and redo the tiling. Any estimates or even guess-timates welcome. The house is in North London. (And if you can recommend someone to do the work I will worship you forever.)

we did our bathroom ourselves and it cost us about £1000 all in - including the china, taps, fittings, shower, shower curtain, tiles, grout, flooring, you name it. We used middlingly expensive taps and stuff though, we could have done it cheaper.

I think the least you could do it for would be about £700, if you used a very basic suite.

Our neighbour downstairs had hers done for her and it cost, I think, about £2000? For a not-particularly-swish suite plus labour.

when I said £700 I meant doing the work yourselves. It's not difficult at all - if you're on a tight budget then do consider it, it halves the costs if not more.
