Mirena coil

I had a Mirena coil fitted on Wednesday, and at first it was okay. Yesterday however, things got so bad I went back to my doctors and had it removed. I could handle the cramping but the constant awareness of it being there made me terrified, I was convinced it would fall out to the point I was even scared to go to the toilet incase it did.
Since having it out, my mood has been so low and I am instantly back on my period, having been on for 7 weeks before the coil insertion. I am seriously questioning whether I made the right choice with removal, as the coil was my last option for birth control and now I just feel a bit lost.
I am planning on seeing my doctor on Monday, but I’m not sure whether to request the coil again and see if it settles better this time. Has anyone else had any experience like this?
