That moment when you get extra comfy, start to fall asleep on your pillow and then WHAM...

You know full well you have locked all the doors, but you just can't settle until you have physically gone and checked every window and door again.

AND THEN YOU CANT GET COMFY AGAIN AND NEED A MIRACLE TO GET BACK TO YOUR PREVIOUS SLUMBER STATE...

Anybody else have the same issue / anybody got any suggestions on how to get over this....

I know that some might say, if you think you have locked up, let that be that, but it really plays on my mind and it is much quicker to get up and check than to procrastinate over and still end up going anyway.

Yep I have this too you need to break the habit by doing this create a new habit of taking a few minutes before bed to check doors etc and take a few seconds to stop and pause and say to yourself right I have checked and it’s ok then when you are in bed take yourself mentally back to those few seconds when you said that and fight the urge as hard as you can to go and check. I am terrible for getting to the door or in the car or even on the way to work and returning to check my hair straighteners are off this might sound crazy but I now take a photo of the empty plug socket to reassure myself I’ve done it ! I never ever end up looking at the photo but it works in stopping me worrying. I understand I possibly have mild ocd and you might not be as bad as me but these things help me

I do often tell myself out loud "the door is locked" but even then I just cannot settle.

It really bugs me and I become all irritable. I then start thinking of all the scenarios of, what if.... what if someone tries the door, will I hear them if I just stay here and not check... then I have to check.

I only have to go and check the once. But it's that routine all the time.

As for the hair straighteners and picture , that's not a bad idea but I do believe im more confident with my morning routine than the evening (",)
