It was my cousins sons first birthday last tuesday. She is having a party for him tomorow and we are invited.

But since the actual birthday has been and gone do I still take a card? (we don't usually send cards to each other), do I buy a present? very skint at the moment/

younger children see the party as their birthday and pay little attention to calendars although at 1 he probably won't really know what is going on. For DDs first birthday the nursery gave her little books whichcost about £1 each which she absolutely loved. I would just take a token present if i were you.

if you ahve an instore near you they have great books for a pound, and cheap cards,.. maybe a small thing of bubbles - everyone loves bubbles..

If you are really skint have a look in a charity shop. I get dd really good condition books, sometimes new ones, for between 10 and 25p. They won't know and we won't tell .

Bubbles are great when you're one. Or a packet of rice cakes.

Can you make a card?
