Won and lost in 10 mins :-(

I just got an email saying I'd won a pair of tickets to see the ex-singer from the Lighthouse Family perform at Ronnie Scotts next week. Was v chuffed and phoned for more info, but the gig starts at 5:30pm and we're 1/2 an hour away on the train. What with work finishing and getting ababysitter, there's no way we could make it, but only by the skin of our teeth. I've given the tickets back

Just wanted to grump about it really - it's our 5th wedding anniversary next Saturday and it would have been something a bit different to celebrate (dh really likes LhFamily).

If anyone else is free next week, the competition seems quite quiet, so you've probably got a reasonable chance.

can you not book to leave work early?

I'm at home with ds and dh probably could leave early, but the main problem is what to do with ds. He's 23 mths and we've got no family in the SE. It's a lot to ask a friend to not only babysit, but to give him dinner and put him to bed etc. He's only ever been put to bed at night by either me or dh. Plus the show is only 3/4 hours long.

if its not that long then i would book a babysitter and go. how old is ds?

Hemel - so about 1/2 an hour on the train if it's a clear run - we'd be fighting the rush hour - that's the other prob I guess. I think it's too late to change my mind now anyway. If I was a quick thinking military planning type person, I could have probably worked something out, but Miss Pessimist here decided it was impossible. Silly moo.
