Mosquito repellant

My poor ds got bitten to death by mosquitoes last year. What should I use on him when we go abroad?

've had a lot of success with bug bands, avaliable from Mothercare. They're wristbands infused with some repellant chemical, but are safe for children and babies. I don't think they're perfect, I'd combine with a spray during the worst times e.g. early morning and dusk.
