Can you remember how old you were when you started using deodorant?

I ask because I think DD may need to start using some.
Poor lass is only 9 but I have noticed on hot days she is coming home from school a litle pongy, even with bathing/showering daily and having clean clothes on every morning.
I don't remember using deodorant until secondary school, is she too young at 9? I don't want her to start to feel self-conscious about it.
Also, can you get deodorant that is not anti-perspirant (I'm assuming it is healthier to still let her sweat??), and is is possible to get it in a roll-on of some sort as she hates aerosols?
Thanks!

think my dd was using deoderant in junior school,yr 6 I think. Her cousin used it when much younger so not unusual.

I know Lush do deoderant bars that are not anti-perspirant but might be a bit fiddly for her to use - I'm sure if you had a look even in Boots you would get something - but I've only seen sprays aimed at young children tbh

Thanks, I will try Lush and have a mosey around Boots.
She recoils in mock dramatic horror if anyone sprays anything, so I don't think she'll put a spray one anywhere near her body!
I don't think it's a major BO problem as it's not every day, I just notice it when it's been a particularly hot sweaty day.

LoveAngel · 21/05/2007 11:30

11 oe 12 I think. I didn't need it, but all the girls were using it. Much like my first bra, really!

nickiey · 21/05/2007 11:33

you could try any of these

here

WanderingTrolley · 21/05/2007 11:34

I think I was 11 or 12.

She could also use a stick, if she hates aerosols. I find roll-ons too wet.

kittylette · 21/05/2007 11:36

about 10
