Wooden train track. You'll get a good deal for £20 in Tesco - and even if he has some already, you can never have too much Brio/Brio compatible track!

Lego, a video/DVD, wooden train track, Hot Wheels, cricket/golf set (just thinking about what's in our Tesco's)
