Sleepover - or rather, Wakeover!

My son (10) has an impromptu sleepover tonight. They've had a great time, 4 of them, pizzas, video games, playing football in the garden till 8.30pm, pillow fight, movie and 'midnight' feast (well not at midnight). Quiet wind down time and a David Williams story to listen to. My two have been asleep for hours but the two friends are still awake, chatting. They say they're comfortable, quite happy, just like little owls! Been out to ask for various things - water, loo, ankle inspection from football... Last couple of times we did it (different kids) they were out like a light by 11pm. What time do kids this age on sleepovers normally crash? Would quite like some sleep myself Hmm

My DD is ten and she and some of her friends can keep going till' three o clock in the morning. Which is why I very rarely have sleepovers here!

They definitely won’t go to sleep while you are at their beck and call - you need to switch the lights off and go to bed! I’d have gone to bed at my normal time.

When a similar thing happened at my house, my son scoffed and then said, why do you think they are called sleepover? Sleep is over and left me there with my jaw hanging

Haha KingIrving, love that! I can laugh about it now. My husband had taken over the night twilight watch! They are now a lot quieter. Fingers crossed!

It was about 3.15 by the time the last one was asleep!!! Now they are up and bouncing and ready to play football. Early night tonight, methinks!
