Is anyone a mystery shopper?

Been looking at ways to earn a few quid, and thought of this. THere are loads of sites that offer places on their database of mystery shoppers. Would be interested to hear from anyone who has done / is doing this

ooh where id love to do this

hollyandalice · 16/05/2007 13:29

I have been doing it for a couple of years and it is a great way to make some extra cash. I'll just look through my emails and post the details of the companies I work for. Won't be a minute !!

Nbg · 16/05/2007 13:30

I've done it before for a couple of companies.

Retaileye and one for the Arcadia company doing Topshop and the likes.

They were quite good. Got a £40 pay out for buying 3 cheese and onion pasties and sausage rolls from Greggs

This company is fab! They pay really well. They deal with Ecco shoes and Aldi. Also I've done shops with them in Swarovski (buying jewellery that I was allowed to keep) and House of Fraser (buying Diesel clothing that I was allowed to keep)! They will also pay for your travel expenses, which some companies don't.

This company is great too. They mostly deal with banks, but I have done B&Q and Gap for them too.

I've used retaileyes too, they don't pay much, but they pay for you to eat at pubs and restaurants. Which is nice!

MoodyMa · 16/05/2007 13:39

I do this too. semi-chem, tkmaxx etc

Nbg · 16/05/2007 13:40

Yes I have done Retail Maxim too.

They are good.

mosschops30 · 16/05/2007 13:41

I do worry that they ask for your bank details immediately how safe is this?

CheesyFeet · 16/05/2007 13:42

That's what I was wondering Mosschops, was really looking for recommendations of "nice" companies that won't rip you off

£40 for buying a sausage roll from Greggs - whatever would the Mumsnet Police think

I know it seems a bit dodgy but I did it and it was fine.

I earn around £11 for semi-chem visits and £17 a return visit - ie a laundry or something.

Sometimes I can make £50 a month. Sometimes I make £0 though

I do mystery shopping for Lush. I joined earlier this year using the contact details on the Lush Forum site. I just let them know which stores I can get to.

I have now done two local MSs and have another one to do this month (all different stores).

After the MS I fill in a written report which I e-mail back within a certain time scale (about a month). I am then credited with £25 into a Lush mail order account.

I don't have to give them any bank account details in advance or anything.
