I cannot find my little book and have looked and looked

it is a little light that has lit up next to a symbol that looks like an asterix shape

anyone?

Yes, that button is probably a quick rinse cycle.

Stick some rinse aid in and see if the light goes out - am fairly sure it is this.

My bosch one has 2 lights - one for rinse aid and one for salt - but it says this - so I can't help with the symbols.

I don't think the salt light has ever come on - so I think it may be a rinse aid light? HTH
