Has anyone got Windows XP - and, if so, have you found that your @ and " keys are mixed up? It's driving me nuts but don't know how to sort it out. Am going to mail Microsoft but wondered if anyone had the answer.

I don't have XP, and am certainly not an expert (read about my trials on the "24 hour internet" thread), but I'm pretty sure it's something to do with UK/US keyboard configuration - if you go into your start menu, click on "settings", then "control panel", and then on the "keyboard" icon, it will give you the option to change to British rather than American.
Hope this works for you.

Oh, thank you - you've solved a mystery for me! We've just got a new computer, where the @ is on the top row and the " above the ' sign - it must be an American keyboard!! Mind you, maybe the presence of a $ and lack of a GBP sign should have told me that, d'oh!!!

still no joy """" @@@@!

Willow2 - I have XP but my keyboard is fine. Have you tried the Help & Support option from the main menu? Type 'keyboard layout' in the search option - there are various different things you can work through and try changing that might help.

Emsiewill, thank you! I could never get the £ sign til now - but I don't know why dh couldn't have told me that (he who works with computers all day!)
